Work Readiness Skills

One work readiness skill that I used in my internship this past week was being professional. I arrived to my internship 15 minutes ahead of time on my first day which allowed me to finish filling out my paperwork with HR before I began working. Because there are many things that could slow down work for me it is important that I arrive early in order to deal with unforeseen events. I also used communication as a valuable skill at my internship as I was able to effectively tell my supervisor the bugs I was experiencing in the game. Finding something wrong in the game does not help anyone unless I can describe in detail what I did in order to create the issue in the first place. One thing i can work on is working with diligence. In my internship I am supposed to be taking detailed notes of my first run through of the game they are working on. Looking back at what I did I should have taken more detailed notes and critique in order to give my supervisors more information to work with.

  1. Professionalism is a great skill to have. Similar to you, I used professionalism in my internship by arriving early. This helped me to complete unfinished tasks from the previous day. Unlike you, I need improvement in communication; however, my form of communication in my internship is more email based.
